==Background==
Archelaus was a Cappadocian Greek nobleman, possibly of Macedonian descent. He was the son and namesake of the Roman Client Ruler and High Priest of Comana, Cappadocia, Archelaus〔(Ancient Library, Archelaus no. 2 & 3 )〕 by an unnamed Greek woman.
